Frequently Asked Questions
What is the average length of your therapy sessions?
The course of treatment depends on the issues you bring for us to address together. Therefore, we can be together for a short time or a much longer time. If the fit is right, I will invite you to join one of my three groups, and we will work for a longer time together with the intention to deepen and broaden your therapeutic work.
Where do you hold your therapy sessions?
My therapy sessions are held in my home office, in an environment where you may feel at ease and able to bring your full self to each session.
What does my first therapy session look like?
Once we’ve set up a time and date for our first appointment, I will send you an email containing several forms. Please read these, fill them out and return them to me before our first session. Ideally, in our first two sessions, we will explore and discuss your early background and family history.
What approach do you use for your therapy sessions?
We will be in a therapeutic relationship. Within that relationship, we will explore, understand, and work through the issues that have been challenging and stressful for you. This often involves toggling back and forth between investigating events in your early years to how these experiences intersect with your current issues.
